An organisation which provides a means for discussion between various bodies involbved in the events industry.
They publish the “Purple Guide” http://www.thepurpleguide.co.uk/ which contains guidance of all aspects of safety for events organisers.

PLASA

PLASA is the lead international membership body for those who supply technologies and services to the event, entertainment and installation industries. As a pro-active trade association, it looks after the interests of its members and seeks to influence business practices and skills development across the industry.
PLASA owns and manages the PLASA Show and PLASA Focus events and publishes leading industry magazines Lighting&Sound America, Lighting&Sound International and Protocol. They provide free accces to ANSI standards for the entertainment industry from this website.

Stage Management Association

The SMA is the national organisation for stage managers and those interested in stage management.
They support, develop, represent and promote their members in the profession.

Schools Theatre Support Group

The Schools' Theatre Support Group (STSG) is a small but established network of professional theatre technicians and managers working in UK schools and colleges. They offer a community of support to this specialist yet important market, responsible for many professionally-equipped small theatres, as well as training and encouraging the next generation of theatre practitioners.

The Society of British Theatre Designers (SBTD) was formed in 1975. It had its origins in the Society of British Theatre Lighting Designers (SBTLD) formed in 1961.
